Since I already had my paint clothes on from the kitchen sink project I decided to go ahead and paint my patio.
A job long overdue. Brick walls and brick floors overwhelmed the space. It was easy to ignore as an outside wall of the house. I used the paint I had leftover from the inside of my house. It’s Sherwin Williams Collonade Grey. A really warm taupey grey. I love it!
It ended up taking two gallons of paint and I had to use a brush for the whole thing to get at the cement grout between the bricks. I should clarify…when I say “I” I mean my mom in law. She did most of the work. I got the project started and she did the rest. Thanks Mom!
Huge improvement!!! I have a long list of other projects to complete on my patio before fall since patio season here in Florida is November to May. Summer time it’s just too humid unless your just out of the lake.
To do list:
- paint the ceiling. (in progress)
- make a new table…the humidity is making my current table fall apart.
- find or make a new sofa.
- make a cover for the cushion on the bed swing.
- find some chairs for the seating area by the sofa.
- paint the frames of the sliding doors…eventually replace the sliding doors all together.
- find or create some sort of chandelier for over the table.
- make slipcovers for the ugly green arm chairs, then dye them ombre.
- find a small cabinet or something for the space between the slidinng doors.
- possibly hang some sheer curtains.
- purchase some plants.
This picture will give you and idea of the magnitude of the work needing to be done. It’s a large space…20′ deep x 45′ long. Any suggestions?
