The most wonderful time of the year…It’s One Room Challenge time! I look forward to each of the participants spectacular rooms every season! So, this season I decided to jump on the bandwagon for the second time.
If your not familiar with the One Room Challenge, it’s a bi-annual event where 20 featured designers/bloggers design a room in six weeks time. Each Wednesday the designers post their progress, with the finished product on the sixth week. Along with the featured designers, anyone with a blog or IG Account can participate as a guest participant, posting each Thursday.
Mood board for my laundry room renovation…My laundry room has been completely neglected since we bought our house 12 years ago. I used a small corner of it as my office for my corporate job, because it’s the only space in my house where I could be completely closed off and quiet.
Since I used it for my office, I could never really do a full renovation because I couldn’t be without my computers and work paraphernalia for long.
Well, I recently took early retirement due to you know what…so now I can do that full renovation.
Before, Before…
This is so embarrassing, and I can’t believe I let it get to this point.
This is how my laundry room looked after I was put on a leave of absence but before I retired. I was still employed but not working. That’s why you can see computers in the back right corner, but they’re buried under clothes. When we bought this house I thought these open shelves would be the greatest thing in the world for storage. Turns out they were always overstuffed and a mess to look at. I can’t wait to get my enclosed cabinets in here to store all my linens, towels, and kitchen appliances, etc.
Check out my video below to see where I’m starting from today. I managed to get all the junk emptied from the room and test fit a couple cabinets.
Now, I must get to work.
