My daughter lived without a closet door for more than a year. Which was excruciating, because she is ultra neat and tidy. She makes her bed military style first thing every morning, won’t let anyone come in her room with shoes on, and is very particular with her belongings.
…DIY tabletop trellis
I created this tabletop trellis in February and finally posting(June) the project since my bougainvillea is blooming so beautifully!
…faux marble epoxy tabletop
I bought this table at an auction for $10!!! The base was black/bronze and the top was faux leather looking and quite scratched. When I spotted the tables(there were two of these tables exactly alike) I didn’t immediately have a vision for them, but for $10 I knew I could do something. I could tell that the tabletop was removable , so I figured I’d at least epoxy the top.
How to cover a lampshade with cane.
My plain white drum shade chandelier needed a glow up, so I decided to use some leftover cane webbing and a cone shaped lamp shade to do just that. I bought the shade at Habitat for Humanity for $2, and initially I planned to use open weave traditional cane to make a pleated style lampshade. But time and resources ran dry so plans changed, and I used what I had on hand. I’ll make the pleated style shade at a later date because this shade feels a little too small for my table, AND I made a very big mistake, read til the end or watch the video to see what I did.
Let’s get started…
…DIY custom clothes drying rack
I’m still working on my laundry room refresh slowly but surely. It started with the One Room Challenge from last spring, which I obviously didn’t complete. Turns out wallpaper is really expensive and I need a lot of it for this laundry room.
My youngest daughter likes to hang dry a lot of her clothes, so my laundry room is frequently riddled with her clothes hanging all over the cabinet doors and drawers. So I needed to make a clothes drying rack in short order. I first scoured the internet looking for any feasible option, but nothing fit the bill because the only space I had to put a clothes drying rack was on the side of this 18″ cabinet.

These hand-painted pumpkins were a fun departure from my usual sewing related/ DIY/ home maintenance content. Sometimes you just need to do something out of the ordinary and just for the fun of it.
